About Us
Playful Promises is a London designed lingerie brand which mixes playful flirty ideas with quirky and directional design.
Playful Promises was created in 2004 by Emma Parker.
Emma became obsessed with lingerie in 1994 when she bought her first pair of ‘grown-up’ knickers. It was the tiniest laciest g-string with a tulle skirted frill edged in velvet ribbon. This tiny French fancy cost £25 (which in the 90’s was a fortune for an 18 year old girl). This meant she couldn’t afford the matching bra and certainly that she had to sacrifice going out partying that weekend but when she put that g-string on it was quite unlike any knickers she had worn before. That is when Emma realized she could conquer the whole world in pants like those!
This led to many drawers full of lacey, frilly, fabulous things, until Emma had developed an addiction to lingerie. The lust for which drove her to design her own.
Playful Promises is for sassy fashionable girls, who like to say ‘I did it my way’ (preferably loudly firstly to the Frank Sinatra version followed by the Sex Pistols), but who are confident enough to not take themselves too seriously and know that life is there to be lived.
Playful Promises collections consist of corsets, bras and brief, quirky gifts and swimwear.
